The Only One…

I was having a conversation with my mom about God, surprise, surprise :) But she said something that just clicked in me and I couldn’t wait to write about it.

She said, “I’m so glad I have God to talk to.” The reply that just fell out of my mouth and birthed this blog was, “He is the only One you really can talk to.”

That began a whole conversation between us and a profound realization on my part.

God is the only One you really can tell everything to, I mean I can tell my mom, sister, and husband everything, but I will be careful how I word things, so that I don’t worry them about certain situations. With God, I can tell Him just what I feel, and just how I feel it.

Why? Because He already knows. He is right there in my head, knowing every thought before I have it. Scary place, my head,  but not for Him :)

There are no secrets from Him. No holds barred, no sugar coating needed. The freedom to say everything I am thinking, feeling, want to do, emotion, anger, sadness, disappointment without fear, no fear that He will not understand or that He will never speak to me again. No fear.

We can tell Him things that we can’t tell our parents, spouses, siblings or friends, and we can tell Him in the way we really mean it without having to word it in a way that won’t cause our love ones to worry. (or think we’ve totally lost it)

We can always count on Him, 24 hours a day to listen. He is never too busy. We don’t have to give Him a minute to finish up what He’s doing, or just wait until tomorrow. We don’t have to make and appointment, or get in line. We never get His voice mail. He never has another call. We are never bothering or interrupting Him. We never have to worry that we will wake Him up if we need Him in the middle of the night. He is always home. He’s never too tired. You get the point.

We don’t have to worry if it’s a good time for Him. With Him and us, it’s always a good time.brooke-campbell-44085

Talk to the One that already knows what you are feeling. Ask the only One who is always willing and able to help you. Talk to the One, who loves you more than you can measure or comprehend.

Talk to the One who created you, and knows you better than you know yourself.

Praying the world will read God's Word for themselves, and not rely on what someone else tells them His Word says or means.

  1. I can so relate to this! When I talk about God to people, I often say when I talk to God, not just simply pray. God has used conversation to open my eyes to what I really struggle with, by opening up to Him. When He has everything we can give Him, He uses us and directs us. How great is our God! Thank you for sharing this positive and relatable post. ~T.R.Noble

    1. I agree, God just wants to hear from us, always. Any noise we make to Him is joyful, He just wants us to make that noise, call it prayer, a chat, singing, He hears it, and He answers it. Thanks for sharing your insight. What a blessing that you share your faith to others, that in itself is a joyful noise to our Lord :) God Bless you. I appreciate you visiting and pray I’ll see you again :)

      1. I will certainly check out your blog. Thank you for the kind words but I really can’t take credit for my blog that credit goes to God. I post His Bible verses, and the poems, well they are from Him too lol…even the blog today, His. I certainly am not much of anything without Him. I learned that the hard way :)

    1. Thank you I appreciate the encouragement :) I was checking out your blog, and yours looks a lot better than mine but thank you for being kind :) I’m away from home and my internet is terrible but once I get back, I’m looking forward to exploring your blog more. I love your conviction about God in the pieces that I read. I love to see anyone who loves God and Jesus like that :)

  2. Sometimes I struggle with how I word things to God. I know how I feel , but I just can’t seem to select the right words. But you seem to be saying that however it comes out, that’s ok. This is the answer to something I’ve been wondering about for a long time. :)

    1. All your words to Him are the right words :) And you said you know how you feel, then He knows how you feel too :) You can’t really plan words to say to the All Knowing God. He already knows what we are thinking, He already hears words, thoughts, etc that are in our head :) I don’t know all the answers but I know God wants us to talk to Him because His Word says so) but He knows us and therefor He knows we aren’t all the best communicators in the world lol.

      1. It’s my pleasure,I love talking about our God. But don’t take my word for it, or any bodys word for what He says or wants from you. Read your Bible. It has all the answers, straight from the source, God :) He will guide you better than any human ever could )

      2. Thank you! I read my Bible all the time, but sometimes you still need people who know a little more than you to explain some of the things you don’t fully understand. I think God uses others with the wisdom to explain things – I guess that’s why we have pastors etc.

      3. I agree we need help sometimes. I ask my mom lol. She always tells me what the Words mean to her but she also always tells me that God’s Word talks to all of us. If I am not understanding something, then it isn’t time for me to understand it. God will reveal it when I am ready for it. She says its like a baby, first they need milk, then they move to mushy foods and eventually the meat. That’s how we are as God’s children, got to start with the milk :)

      4. Your mom is a wise woman! :) I’m sure you’re right about starting with the milk! :) Another thing I do which helps is to pray before I read a section of scripture asking God to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me through and open my heart and mind to receive from Him- it pretty much works! :)

      6. You are more than welcome to use anything you like :) but remember any words you use are the right words, when talking to God. He loves it when His children talk to Him. It has been a real blessing talking to you as well. Thank you for visiting with me :) God bless you.
