The Only One…

I was having a conversation with my mom about God, surprise, surprise :) But she said something that just clicked in me and I couldn’t wait to write about it.

She said, “I’m so glad I have God to talk to.” The reply that just fell out of my mouth and birthed this blog was, “He is the only One you really can talk to.”

That began a whole conversation between us and a profound realization on my part.

God is the only One you really can tell everything to, I mean I can tell my mom, sister, and husband everything, but I will be careful how I word things, so that I don’t worry them about certain situations. With God, I can tell Him just what I feel, and just how I feel it.

Why? Because He already knows. He is right there in my head, knowing every thought before I have it. Scary place, my head,  but not for Him :)

There are no secrets from Him. No holds barred, no sugar coating needed. The freedom to say everything I am thinking, feeling, want to do, emotion, anger, sadness, disappointment without fear, no fear that He will not understand or that He will never speak to me again. No fear.

We can tell Him things that we can’t tell our parents, spouses, siblings or friends, and we can tell Him in the way we really mean it without having to word it in a way that won’t cause our love ones to worry. (or think we’ve totally lost it)

We can always count on Him, 24 hours a day to listen. He is never too busy. We don’t have to give Him a minute to finish up what He’s doing, or just wait until tomorrow. We don’t have to make and appointment, or get in line. We never get His voice mail. He never has another call. We are never bothering or interrupting Him. We never have to worry that we will wake Him up if we need Him in the middle of the night. He is always home. He’s never too tired. You get the point.

We don’t have to worry if it’s a good time for Him. With Him and us, it’s always a good time.brooke-campbell-44085

Talk to the One that already knows what you are feeling. Ask the only One who is always willing and able to help you. Talk to the One, who loves you more than you can measure or comprehend.

Talk to the One who created you, and knows you better than you know yourself.

The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.–1 Samuel 24:12

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins. –Matthew 1:21

No Longer Drowning

Seeing things through new eyes
All my tears have been dried
Like a baby that’s just been born
No longer between panic and peace am I torn
Some days still filled with heart pounding
At least now I am no longer drowning
Feelings of anxious electricty shooting threw my fingers
That panic and fear sometimes still lingers
Each day, each moments gets easier more and more
When I knocked and Jesus opened that door

Come now, let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. –Isaiah 1:18

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. –Revelation 21:3

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. –Revelation 21:4

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Al-le-luia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. –Revelation 19:6

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  –Revelation 20:12

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. –1 Samuel 16:7

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful. –Revelations 17:14

Hummingbirds at peace

This post was inspired by Yassy. She wrote a poem about spring titled “spring’s realm”. She writes lots of beautiful poetry, and its one of the thing that draws me to her blog.

This particular poem mentioned hummingbirds, which prompted me to comment about how hummingbirds act so crazy over food, and feeders. They will fight, and dive bomb each other, and chase each other off the feeders. As if these little things could eat all that food by themselves.

One afternoon, after being outside for a bit, watching them fight endlessly over these feeders I said, “If y’all don’t stop fighting over those feeders, I’m taking them down.”

When I came back outside, this is what I found :)

I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek Him whom my soul loveth: I sought Him, but I found Him not. –Song 3:2

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Thy ways, Thou King of saints. –Revelation 15:3

Who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? for Thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before Thee; for Thy judgements are made manifest. –Revelation 15:4

And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, which wast, and shall be, because Thou hast judged us.
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. –Revelations 16:5-6

Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things He hath done for you. –1 Samuel 12:24

And I heard the voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. –Revelation 14:13
