But godliness with contentment is great gain. –1 Timothy 6:6

Praying the world will read God's Word for themselves, and not rely on what someone else tells them His Word says or means.

  1. This verse has taught me so much in so few words… contentment is a choice, a surrender, of sorts, to where God has me. I choose contentment, I choose joy… not because it is my choice, but because it is God’s, and HE does all things well. Thank you for ministering to my soul!

      1. Thanks, Margaret! My routine got thrown off, and I got a bit behind on reading and stuff! I get what you mean about contentment for sure. I spent decades wallowing in constant discontent, and that changed almost instantly when I was saved. Even in things I don’t like much, I find myself able to be content with them, if that makes sense.

      1. We live in a busy world run by power hungry and greedy people. We’re taught to reach for more and more. If I continued to listen to the world, I would definitely not be content! But I’m old and it didn’t come easy for me either!!
