The Challenge question on The Word is:

How do you know when God is talking to you?

Thank you for participating. God Bless you :)

Praying the world will read God's Word for themselves, and not rely on what someone else tells them His Word says or means.

  1. He speaks and the sound of His voice is so sweet the birds hush their singing!
And the melody that He gave to me within my heart is ringing.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me.
And He tells me I am His own.
And the joy we share, as we tarry there
None other has ever known. <3

  2. As others have stated, it is a “still, small voice” (1 Kings 19:11-12) that doesn’t intrude, doesn’t intimidate or force. We have all heard it said that the Holy Spirit is a perfect gentleman, for He will never force Himself on us, we must WANT to hear from Him. He truly is a “convincer” (the Bible calls it to convict, but modern English has given a negative connotation), for He counsels and another commenter stated, He admonishes, but that is a gentle prodding in a direction He desires us to go! When we DO truly HEAR from Him, it is Spirit to spirit, something that develops within us more precisely over time. That old saying, “practice makes perfect,” is true in the spiritual realm and especially with our relationship with our Heavenly Father, through Christ Jesus and empowered by His Holy Spirit. AND, it will ALWAYS create change within us, making us more and more into the image of Christ Jesus!

God bless you continually in your service!

  3. I just feel it. It’s indescribable, but I just feel and know that it’s Him; whether it’s through someone, something happening, through a song, through the scripture, through that voice in my head or through total silence, I just know that it’s Him. It’s such a peaceful feeling.

  4. The Bible, at least that’s what I think! Sometimes I read a verse and I realize, I need these verses. Sometimes I face challenges and God leads me to verses I couldn’t find on my own. Loving these challenges! 😁

  5. It varies for me. Sometimes it is an unsettling feeling to turn me in the right direction ; sometimes a word jumps at me from the Bible ; other times he speaks to my heart. He shows up in dreams & visions for me. And a lot of times while sitting and listening to a sermon in church. Mostly I am glad he doesn’t leave us alone as his children guiding and leading as we grow in recognizing his nudging.

  6. I’ll give you one example…

He specifically moves in my consciousness to take care of something that I’ve not handled adequately.
I used to call it “buzzing my brain.”
But it’ll be a very specific problem that He wants me to own up to and correct. And if it affects other people, He moves on me to make it right with them, and to seek their forgiveness.

And the longer I try to rationalize not confronting something embarrassing that I need to take care of, the more He turns up the “buzzing in my brain” (a heightened compelling to feel my guilt in something and to correct it)…until I say uncle and just get it over with and go take care of the matter.
