Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. — Psalms 145:3
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them. — Psalms 145:19
For every house is builded by some man; but He that builded all things is God. — Hebrews 3:4
But Christ as a son over His own house; Whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. — Hebrews 3:6
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. — Hebrews 3:12
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. — Hebrews 4:1

Margaret, I started to like your post, but the warning in these verses is sobering, even for one drunk on His Spirit. They put me in my place. I have no merit, no wisdom of my own, only what I find in Him, truths from scripture such as these place a burden upon me, that at times I can not indulge, will I fail Him, and thereby fail myself. He is worthy of so much more than I have to offer. I must not take lightly the truth even when it comes in the form of warning. We are living in Times that will try men’s souls. Be firm steadfast until the end. Fear not him who is able to destroy the body, but fear Him who is able to destroy both body and soul. I chose You Jesus. Hide me for yet a little while in Your house, and then I will receive my crown.

James has been good to me too, been eating it up like I’ve never read it before hahaha. I love God :)

Oh! James is ALWAYs an excellent read, but it is also quite convicting, too. I feel the same as you each time I read it. :D

Absolutely convicting. I use to not like the convicting scripture. I wanted warm and fuzzy, uplifting. Now, the convicting feels as good if not better to me :)

Amen! I know going in that the book of James has some “tough love” in it, but it’s always meant for my growth anf my good!

Amen, and Amen! What a magnificent gift. And God gave it to us, freely. I feel, He knew if we had to earn it, we never would, so He had mercy on us and gave it to us. :):):)

Those Hebrews verses you cited are among the MOST POWERFUL, AND MOST IGNORED verses in scripture.
Very excellent sister!

I was thinking about “ignored” verses yesterday. Actually, my mom and I had a very lengthy discussion about it. And here you bring it up Brother. Coincidence? I think not. I love a confirmation from the Lord.

I thank the Lord!!!!!!!!!☺
And I told bornagain732 the other day a quote from you, “coincidence…I think not!”
Ain’t it wonderful and encouraging when God uses someone to confirm something to you?
