Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more. — Judges 10:13

Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation. — Judges 10:14

      1. I think it’s the human expression. The only way to be separated from God is done by us. God’s holy nature can’t be mixed with evil nature. God doesn’t actively take action to turn us away (that’s kind of theology).

  1. Sadly, I wonder if the Lord isn’t saying the same thing to the nations (broadly speaking) today.

What does that verse in Psalms say? “It is a terrible thing to fall into the hand of the living God” (or something to that effect)? :o I’d much rather His hand over me (protection) than to fall into it (judgment)….

    1. ” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31 I had to look it up myself. :):) I agree, and I had the same thought about how we are now, and back then. It’s a sad thing to be turned away by the Lord, I couldn’t imagine it. It strikes me to my core. I am with you, I prefer His protection. God bless you :):)

      1. Thank you for the verse reference in Hebrews (our favorite book recently, it seems!). It is a sobering thing to ponder the justice of God – He is as just as He is good – but ultimately, He only turns away from those who freely chose to walk away from Him first (and not look back).

Anyway, thanks for posting the wonderful verses, as always! 💛
