Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. — Jeremiah 17:5

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope is in the LORD. — Jeremiah 17:720170514_130133

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. — Jeremiah 17:9-10

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for Thou art my  praise. — Jeremiah 17:14

Praying the world will read God's Word for themselves, and not rely on what someone else tells them His Word says or means.

  1. I just read this post again Margaret,
    And it is goooooooood!!!

I also have this post linked on my Facebook site, (I don’t know if I already told you).
    Man this post is good.

God knows perfectly what to say where it’s needed to be said.

Did you ever think about that?

Sometimes a post like this is just the right medicine to bear truth upon a self-centered wicked world.
And at other times, His comforting words are a needed ointment to the saint who’s been depressed.

    He is so awesome!!!

  2. Hi,
Whenever I read your post, it takes me back to my school days. I studied in a Christian school and my first friend (Rebecca) was a Christian. I used to memorize Bible verses even at the age of 5 or 6 along with her and I still remember participating in a competition also. Soon I lost the interest when she moved to some other class. :)

I must admit that the values I learnt from my school played a huge role in shaping me up. We used to assemble for the prayer every morning, our teachers used to narrate a story from Bible and end with Bible verses (or moral of the story). I always thank God for such a wonderful opportunity to learn moral values at a very young age.

I could recollect very few of the verses you are sharing here, and I don’t understand many of them. May I get a chance again to read the verses here along with your explanation?

    1. Megala it is a blessing to read what you have shared about your early memories of the verses. I appreciate you sharing them with me :):) It is wonderful to see you give God thanks for the lessons you learned, and the impact it has had on the person you are.

I am honoured you would ask for my explanations of verses. If I had all the answers I would give them all to you :):):) I try not to translate God’s Word as He has not directed me to do so. I also do not understand all the verses, and would not want to lead you astray as to their meanings. I feel that God’s Word speaks to us each as it pertains to what we are going through in our life. What I am going through, and what you, or anyone is going through will be different, if that makes sense. I could tell you what a verse means to me but that might not be what God is trying to teach you about what you are going through. Not everyone feels this way, They feel they know what a verse means, and that is what it should mean to everyone. I am not saying that is wrong, and I am right, or that I am wrong and they are right. I feel the best thing to do it to ask God to tell you what He wants you to learn, to guide you to understand the meanings, and listen to what you feel. When I do that, and still don’t understand, I feel that it just isn’t time for me to understand that verse, maybe because it isn’t time in my life, or maybe I am not mature enough(in God) to understand, and God knows this. But when it applies to me today, and I am mature enough God does reveal it to me. It’s like anything we learn in life. We didn’t start out eating solid food because we could not digest it. We started with liquid, then soft stuff before we could digest the meat. I feel God’s Word is like that too.

But if you will ask God to show you what He wants you to learn, He loves you Megala, and He will show it to you. He wants to help you. I know this because you are His child, and as you said yourself, His Word(the Bible verses), the values you learned from His Word has played a huge role in shaping you up. He is always there waiting to help shape you even more, whenever you are ready, and just ask Him to do so :):):)

Having said that, there is one thing that is a truth, and I have no problem translating it. That Jesus is the Son of God. That Jesus gave His life so that all of us could be forgiven of our sins, and receive eternal life in Heaven. That God raised Him from the dead. On that truth, if you believe, you are saved. Do you believe that Megala? The verse that goes with that is Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

I am always happy to tell you what the verses mean to me, but I do not want you to rely on what I feel they mean. And some verses I wouldn’t be of any help because I don’t understand them either, so it’s not just you. :):):) But I know that God will reveal the meaning when I am ready, or when it will help me with something that I am going through, and applies to my life at that moment. He will do the same for you too Megala. I hope that makes sense.

LORD, thank You for Megala, and for helping shape her into the amazing person she is. Help her to understand Your verses, to understand what You are trying to teach her, and how to apply it to her life. Reveal to her all the wisdom that she needs to continue to grow with You, and LORD help me to be able to answer any questions she might have, and LORD, I ask You to continue to bless Megala for giving You the glory You deserve for the part You have played in molding her into the person You want her to be. LORD, I love You, and thank You for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus name. Amen.

      1. In no way did you hurt me at all, Megala, I promise :):):) I was honoured that you hold me in a regard that I would know. But in good conscience I wouldn’t ever lead you astray because I honestly don’t understand all the Bible verses meanings :):):) If God had revealed all the meanings I would wholeheartedly share them all with you. I promise. It would be a pleasure, an honour, and a blessing :):)

If you ask me about a verse, I will always happily share with you what I feel it means. But never take my word for it, always rely on what God is telling you. He will never steer you wrong :):)

      2. No, no, not at all. I understand not only your point but also my childlike approach. :) I really appreciate all your efforts to share your views. Thanks for a nice gesture.

      3. You are so kind. Your kindness reads through in your posts and all your comments that I read. And a childlike approach is the best, most perfect approach. My mom says I have childlike faith, and I am almost 50 years old :) Childlike approach is the way we should be, it gives us a true love, an ability to learn, not hindered by all the negatives, and allows us to see with a true heart. Anything I can do to help, I am most happy to do. If I don’t have the answer I will be honest and say I don’t have the answer, and we can always ask on my blog, and see what others have to offer :) Thank you for being so kind Megala :):)
