But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; — Hebrews 9:11

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. — Hebrews 9:12

For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. — Hebrews 9:26

Praying the world will read God's Word for themselves, and not rely on what someone else tells them His Word says or means.

  1. Beautiful truth! 💙Had it not been for Jesus (Hebrews 9:12) we might have still been sacrificing animals as they did in the OT for a sin offering.

    1. Isn’t that the truth, and we know from other scripture they were not pleasant to God anymore. We would try to skirt by and skimp on the sacrifices. God had to show us what a proper sacrifice, from the heart, true through and through looked like. And praise God that He did. We would all still be perishable without HIm.

I always wondered why the sacrifices were skimped on? Was it pride? Did people think others would know their sins by their sacrifices? Was it greed? Since it was the first, and finest, without blemish, and people thought well I that perfect one sure would be tastier for me and my family? Who knows these things but I am happy God made it easy before I came alone because I know I would have messed up that whole thing. The way God made it for me, there is no way to mess it up :) Hallelujah!

      1. Amen! All those sacrifices were preparation for the true Sacrifice God would send to earth later on to die for our sins. The OT mirrors the NT, yet, many people assume that the OT is done away.

I’ve never really dwell on the sacrifices to be honest. Who knows? Maybe God would reveal it to you while you’re studying the Word. 💙

      2. No the Old Testament is so important because to me it’s where we really get to know Who God is, what power He has, and what the sacrifice Jesus really made for us. Plus so many other valuable lessons about how we are, things we do, and will do.

I know what you mean about the sacrifices. I read them of course when I am in those chapters. I would have had to make a list, or pretty much just do them all because well, I fall short at something every day :) I am happy that He revealed to me the importance of the Sacrifice, the one that saves us all :)

      3. Exactly! It was never done away with. We get to truly know God in the OT as we get to know Jesus personally in the NT. I love how they balance off each other.

Same here, sis. I always fall short of something every day, but we can always go to Him and ask forgiveness and that’s the beauty of the best Sacrifice ever!
