The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: — 1 Peter 5:1

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; — 1 Peter 5:2

Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. — 1 Peter 5:3

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. — 1 Peter 5:4

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. — 1 Peter 5:5

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: — 1 Peter 5:6

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. — 1 Peter 5:7

  1. Great Scriptures! And quite a vast array of good and strong Biblical principals… Gotta love the Word of God. Can’t begin to think of where my life would be without it! Love this post, Margaret… 💕✝️💕🎉💕

  2. Amen. An elder should be a wise learned man with the desire to teach the younger. An Elder woman should be such and desire to teach the the women and children. Both will help keep the others from failures that they themselves experienced and how , how thru Christ Jesus, they came thru. TY

  3. Some of these verses teach that we should always respect our elders, but sadly, the world in which we live in today has the opposite effect. May God continue to bless you, me dearest.

    1. I know. It even begins in school. My son told me how in school they would tell them “it’s not your parents fault for the things they believe or don’t know. They didn’t have the technology we have today” I was shocked. But I also remember our teachers telling us similar things. No, they didn’t have the “technology, or science” we have now. They had their Bibles, hands, minds and body. All the good things God provided.
