Feeling more than blessed :) and update

We moved into our new temporary home today. It is more than I could have ever imagined but isn’t that what God says, He is more than we can ever imagine.

I feel so blessed that words can’t even describe it.

We are still waiting on the insurance to “process” the new adjustment for the repairs to our house. They said that should take them 10 to 14 working days. Which amazes me since right after the hurricane last year when there were 10’s of thousands of claims it was done in a matter of days.

However I am so thankful for the housing that God has provided, and miraculously we had exactly the amount of money to put down the deposit and first months rent.

For here, during the peak season, when rentals are only done by the week, and run in the thousands per week. The owners of this place let us have it on a month to month basis. They charged us less than they could have, and have been renting it per week.

Please say a prayer for these owners who could have made 4 times the money by renting to the tourist but found it in their hearts to let us have it for not just a month but for as many months as we need. Taking a huge loss to their bottom line.

Praise the LORD for His loving mercy. He sure does things in such a way that it can’t be denied.

I appreciate all of your prayers for our family. We still have a long road, and we are not waiting for the insurance to start to pay the contractor. We are going to the house everyday and doing all the work we can. And at night we are washing, and cleaning everything that can be salvaged from the mold exposure.

Tonight as I type this, listening to the washer and dryer. I am blessed to be in a safe, clean, temporary home. Looking out over the ocean, and all its beauty.

Again I say praise the LORD.

  1. Praise the Lord for this update (even though I am still catching up). I was very concerned about your earlier temporary lodgings, and am greatly relieved to know that you are in a safer and more welcoming place.

    1. Yes, it has certainly been a blessing for us :) Praise the LORD. And if I haven’t already asked you please ask the LORD to bless the owners of this place. They really were kind and even though we don’t know them, we are so thankful. Since this is a weekly rental(even though they did a month to month for us) there is a closet here that is locked. Which is a standard practice here. That closet is the owners personal stuff that they wish to not be used by every stranger that rents here. We plan on writing them a thank you note and slip it under the door of that closet. Something to let them know how much they have blessed us with their kindness :)

      1. Aww. Yes, I will pray for the Lord’s favor be extended to the owners of your rental for their kindnesses to you. What comes to mind is the Lord’s blessing of Obed-Edom in 2 Samuel 6 β€” may the Lord do all of this and more for the owners, if that be His will. πŸ‘πŸΎ

  2. Margaret, that’s wonderful news! I’m so glad you’ve got somewhere comfortable for the interim. Will the insurance cover any more towards the repairs..will you be okay financially with it? The owners of your current place are angels for their compassion and generosity, I’m grateful to them. You’ve definitely got a lot on your hands at the moment & if I could be there to help then I would. You can do this. Lots of love to you and your family Β β™₯Β β™₯Β β™₯Β β™₯

    1. We are still waiting to hear from insurance. 10 to 14 days they said. We have gone to the house every day and started doing all we can. We can’t just sit around and wait. I know if you were here you would help us, and I love you for that :)

Funny you asked about insurance, we had a policy that was guaranteed to pay for everything. It was because when a natural disasters happen, like it did here, cost of materials and labour tend to go up. Supply and demand. The demand for repairs, and materials, and low supply of contractors and materials. So, for over 16 years we had our insurance that covered if the house needed repairs like this, and it exceeded our policy amount the insurance guaranteed to pay whatever amount it would cost, even if it exceeded our policy amount. Of course we paid higher insurance premiums for this policy but I always wanted to be sure if something like this happened we were covered. Well wouldn’t you know, our insurance company discontinued those policies in February of last year. They never told us, our premiums never went down(they actually increased) So, I had no idea. If they had informed us, hey there Margaret, we’ve discontinued that policy you have been paying on so you might want to increase your coverage. We certainly would have in creased our coverage, obviously since we had been paying for the most expensive policy up until that time anyway.

    1. Thank the LORD. He is so good to us all. We might not see it all the time, we might not understand it all the time but in the end it is all for His glory. He has a plan, and He wants the best for us :) I am so happy things are working out so well with you and the family, and getting a stride. I thank God for that and for answering our prayers about it :)

  3. I am so happy for you Margaret. I didn’t know about your home. I will keep you and your family and the kind owners of that condo in my prayers.

I always tell my family to look for signs everywhere that God is giving us gifts all the time. I know I told you my story of not growing up in a religious family but I believe God always sent his people to mentor me while I was growing up to show me the way.

I just didn’t know it at the time, but now looking back at those early years, I realized that he was always there, right by my side. So many gifts I was given and didn’t know it at the time when it happened.

I just read that post that riverlifepsalms1 wrote above in his comments. It was such a touchy story.

Thank you Margaret for sharing God’s words with me. He put you in our lives for a reason and you are teaching us so much. God bless you and your family and those Condo owners.

    1. Thank God, and thank you for your cherished prayers. Yes God always does things and lots of times we don’t see it. It reminds me of in the Bible when He told Moses you will only see my back, or after He had passed by. I can’t remember the exact words. I feel that was a lesson that we will miss lots of the things God does for us, and it is only after the fact we will see Him. I saw Him all in this. There was no denying it. People say wow what luck, no, no, our God doesn’t do luck. There are no coincidences with our Almighty God. :)

I feel so humbled if you learn anything from me, that right there is proof of God :) I do feel He puts all HIs children where He wants us to be, and I know that you have been a blessing to me ever since the first post I read of yours about your closet that you turned into your crafting room. You are a blessing and a most beloved child of God, and it is so powerful because no one, and nothing can pluck you out of His Almighty hands :)

    1. I did cry dear friend. I was in utter shock. I still kind of am, every time I look around. Every time we return from working at our real home. I was telling hubby this morning as the sun was rising over the water, how God is so good to us, and how these people who don’t know us leaped out in faith and helped us. God certainly does things in such a way that it can’t be denied :)

    1. Praise the LORD Peggy. Please ask the LORD to bless them for the kindness they have extended to us. They surely didn’t have to, here in peak season when they could have made more in one week than they charged us for a whole month. And to do it month to month, AND will drop the price even more if we have to stay longer. So again ask the LORD to bless them abundantly :)

  9. Look at Abba, doing what He does, supplying needs according to His riches in glory. Kingdom currency at work: Favor + Finance!!

“miraculously we had exactly the amount of money to put down the deposit and first months rent.”

“I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me…Philippians 4:12-13

      1. They’re walking in kingdom blessedness.

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”…Luke 6:38

What they’ve done and have committed to doing is the epitome of Matthew 6:19-21..

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

They’re making kingdom investments, and the ROI on this is incomprehensible by earthly measures!

    1. Amen, and please ask the LORD to bless the owners of this condo. They in less than 5 minutes told the real estate agent to rent it to us for a month for less than they can get for a whole week! And they will lower the price if we have to stay longer. Ask the LORD to bless them :)

    1. Praise the LORD. Thank you Brother and please ask the LORD to bless the owners of this condo. They could have said no but they in less than 5 minutes told the real estate agent to rent it to us. And will lower the price next month. They are already renting us a whole month for less than they can get for a week. Then they are dropping it even more if we have to stay longer. Hallelujah!

    1. And Elizabeth please ask the LORD to bless the owners of this place. They have rented this to us for less than they get for a week, and have put it in writing that they will drop the price even more if we stay longer. They are giving up potentially 10’s of thousands of dollars by helping us out. It took them 5 minutes to make that decision. Literally from the time I called the real estate agent and asked if she had a month to month rental to the time she called me back was about 5 minutes. When she told me how much it was a week, I said that will never work. She said let me call them, 5 minutes later she called back and told me it was less for the month than she had told me that they rent it for the week. I asked twice because I couldn’t believe my ears. She said you heard me right AND if you needed it longer they will drop it even more. So, please ask the LORD to bless them abundantly.
