I have close to 100 days worth of verses typed up. Pretty sure through September the 8th. After that, this blog might be done. Not that I don’t enjoy it, and the whole family that comes along with it. I love you all and will miss you.
My issue is with the change in the way I publish them, the new editor. I don’t mind change but I am also not one to do more work for the same result. I am unwilling to take twice as long to type up something that took half the time to type up before.
I know this change is great for all you real bloggers out there. For me it is just extra steps for the same result.
I am not willing.
Having said that. I will continue to moderate the blog until September 8th when the last verses are scheduled.
Just find you and find out your are going away soon. I understand. This new blog I started has caused a lot of extra work for me. It has so many glitches that I have to go the round about way to like someone’s post and to answer their comments and on and on, but I never give up. I have mastered this new version of wordpress at the ripe old age of 77. I can tell by all the comments listed here that you will be sorely missed.

Well, it is still letting me post under the old version so I haven’t had to make the choice yet :) We both know if the LORD allows me to stop, I will. If He doesn’t, I won’t. I prefer the peace I get for following what He wants ’cause if I don’t do what He wants there will be no peace. haha :) I am so glad you got everything sorted, and that you found me :)

Well, whatever your decision on your blog – it certainly is your decision. You certainly need to do what you think God wants you to do. Took a long time to find you, but I never gave up. Ha Lots of love and hugs to you during this Covid-19 crisis. Hope you stay safe.

I have been experimenting with using the “classic” block. With continued use, I should be able to use it with the same efficiency as the older editor. Most of my text is typed up offline and then pasted into WP.

That is good to hear. I am glad it is working ok for you :)

A lot can change by then, and perhaps God lead your heart to a better way to share; The Word! Whichever direction, the way will surely be His will.
P.S. Have you tried using the classic version? God bless!

Oh, Margaret! I will be sad to see you go if you do! But I completely understand. I do not like that block editor either. I always go up to the right hand corner and choose classic editor. I tried the new thing coming (although it seems like a repeat of the last thing they tried to offer, but I just did not like it) before I commented to see what the difference was. I get the frustration. Even tonight, it did not take me long to see I will be sticking with the classic editor too. I pray they keep it!
I am praying for you too, Margaret. I know and trust God to look after you. You know how cherished you are. If you do leave, make sure we keep in touch via email! Do as God leads, my friend! Me and God will always treasure you!

Hey Nath and welcome :) awwww I havent set in stone and of course we all know that if the LORD makes a way, I will take it. I have gotten lots of feed back and the version of the editor that came after the one I use is suppose to be available even after the change. I never used it but I will try. Thank you so much for your encouragement. We will thank God for His Word :) LORD, I ask You to bless Nath. :)

Whoops, typo. My father did not die at my kitchen table. He died in a tragic way when at work when he fell off a roof and broke his neck. This is the first time I am sharing this story but I want to clear that comment up a bit. Before he died he was able to ask for my forgiveness at my kitchen table, so he passed knowing the Peace of forgiveness and that is why forgiveness is so important, from all sides. Okay, I have to get off line now, so much work to do today. Sadly we lost two quail these past two days because of what I think is record heat waves. We moved them to shade but now we have brought them into the Arizona room until the temps cool down some.

Oh NO! This will be so sad. I will miss you and all God’s words you are teaching me. It makes it easy for me to read his words broken down, it’s a dyslexic thing. I know what you mean, there are so many things in life that we all have to battle and make time for.
Sometimes even I think about throwing in the towel when it comes to blogging but then I remember what my father did when he was alive and that was helping as many people as he could while on this earth. He carried a great guilt with him most of his life because of what happened with me.
It is something I do not share but I will try to find a way to tell this story some day because God is everywhere in it and it made my husband a true believer after everything he witnessed. Now he says to anyone who ask him if he believes in God ” No I don’t believe…I Know. I know with all my heart there is one.”
Before my father died at my kitchen table in front of my husband he would break down in tears and look at me and say he was sorry. He used drugs when I was younger and he was abused in horrible ways as a child, sadly he did not break that chain. I left home as soon as I was 18.
It is such a long story Margaret and it would take too long to write up in one comment. My father was a good man, but he made mistakes, like all good people do from time to time. This is why forgiveness feels so good when it happens.
After my father died I made a promise to myself and that was that as his oldest child I would try to continue to keep that cycle of good deeds going as long as I was walking this earth as well. Tag…I was it.
Part of those good deeds were not only trying to mend the pain my father left with his sister and what happened there but also continuing to help out others, including strangers as much as possible to the best of my ability and without putting me or my family in harms way.
Sharing tips, crafts, positive stories of our life here in Arizona and any encouraging words I can find in me to pass on, are ways to reach all those strangers out there that may need that. Even if only one person reads one of my post, that is one person who can pass it on and now it is two.
We will all miss you when you leave, and if you have another way to communicate Gods words let us know. With churches being closed (they are opening now) and Christians everywhere being sensoried and shut down on social media, we all have a battle to fight, but we are all together in love and God’s strength by our side. You and your family stay safe out there, as I know you will because God is by your side.

Everyday when I go to save the verses, your posts as well as others. In the notifications will always show that your posts/pins are being saved dozens of times, several times a day. I havent ever seen anything like it. God is using you to reach thousands of people. One of your posts alone has been viewed over 16,000 times. Ok so this shows how unobservant I am I didn’t know there was a new editor. I don’t use the one now that I know of. Ick.

I couldnt help but notice because every day when I would log in to type and schedule the verses an annoying box would pop up telling me that June 1rst the new editor would be used. At first I thought, ok another upgrade, Ill click no thank you and be able to keep the thing like it is. I am still on the version from 2 updates ago hahaha :) I looked closely to find the no thank you(after it popped up again) but there isn’t one. It isn’t an option.

Aww Shae, of course we can :) Hubby and I were talking about it, and I can always still log in and visit with everybody too. Maybe they will see how they have added a lot of extra steps that use to be done in one click and fix it. :)

I agree with Shae. We hope you keep in touch! We certainly respect your decision. I have procrastinated about using the new editor. I do as another blogger mentioned: create my post in Word and copy and paste it into WordPress. I’ll have to see how things go – not looking forward to it, as I am never good with change. :) Maybe God wants to teach me something. :)

I will :) The only reason I started using it, well 2 reasons. !. there was no option to keep what I have :) 2. I like to be prepared and figured getting a head start while I could still use the older one would be better. Typing stuff up in it isnt so bad not that I can tell. Hopefully they will look right but it is finding the italics, adding pictures, etc. Its like a big scavenger hunt. Then the posting/scheduling, tags, etc take so many extra steps to do the same thing. Tags for example, you have to type them all. Tagging used to be 13 clicks. Click the tags box, then click the 12 tags I use. Now I have to type them, or start typing them THEN suggestions will appear. I know I use the same 12 tags but I have to sit and think about it too which again adds more time to the posting and less time I can spend visiting blogs. Dont even get me started on scheduling a post hahaha.
I dont even know what “block/blocking” is and why we need it but I am going to google it at some point hahaha :)

I hope it works out for you too Leola. It is like a scavenger hunt the first few times using it. Tagging the post is the most annoying. I liked to click the “tags” pick the ones I use from the drop box. Now you have to type them every time. Who thought that was a time saver? hahaha :)

Sis, I understand. Even I don’t have the time for this new editor, but God’s Word needs to get out there, so I look at this as another challenge to conquer with Jesus by my side. Whatever decision you come to, I’ll respect it, but if you do plan to stay, maybe you can post like twice a week or perhaps a weekly verse. I am selfish because your blog has been vital to my walk with Christ and you’ve become so dear to me.

Awwww me love you are so sweet to me, and it means more than you will know. We will see. We have until September, and I have verses piling up because I got tired of all the extra steps. hubby suggested trying it on the laptop but its the same. I dont understand why they would want to make 1 step become 3, 4 or 5. I know bloggers want new improved tech but they also like interacting with other blogs/bloggers. All these extra steps cut down on that interaction. I started the blog as a way to cut down the time that it took to text out the verses to everyone. This is going backwards haha :)

What I used to do was write in Word then copy & paste on WP. I’m not sure if this would work for you, though. To be honest, I’ve held off using the new editor for as long as I could, but I did test it out once and quite disliked it. I’ll be looking for shortcuts of sorts. It sure is especially for people like us who just want to get in and out quickly without so much complication.

By the time I got to the “tag” part of the post and had to type each tag in, when before all I had to do was click my tag box, and a dropbox of all my tags would drop down. All I had to do was click the tags and move to the next step. The new one you have to type each tag? I have not found a way to bypass this. I searched the help and as far as I can see you have to type each one. Now it says once you start tying the tags you use the most, that begin with that letter will drop down. OK, well all my tags dont start with the same letter, and how do you remember all your tags??? LOL Plus the scheduling use to be 3 clicks. Now I lost count because it would irritate me. It took me, I dont know how long to find the italics tab. Its like a scavenger hunt. I dont use that much when typing up the posts. Italics, and red letters for Jesus but I cant even figure out how to make the letter red. hehehe :)

That tag thing could certainly be a pain and I hope it’s rectified soon. Exactly! It was so much easier to do so. Well, this new week is going to be a trying time for me with this new editor. I think WP should’ve left us to make the decision over which editor we prefer to use.

I actually tried the new editor on my other blog just to feel things out, and so far, I like what I see for the while being. Tagging was also easy as I don’t use many tags over there. As for the main blog, it’s still running on classic.

I haven’t really explored it deeper as yet, but I’ll do so soon. There is an option to combine the classic with the new editor, so maybe that’s why I find it working okayish at the moment.

In the help forum they said it will be available but the classic editor isnt the one I use now either I use the version that is older than that. They also said it wont be available right away. It will be available sometime after the new version is in place. I dont know if. would like the “classic” since I have never tried it. lol I know what you mean about the age thing. I don’t know how old you are but I am of the age that I like efficiency. I don’t want to do a bunch of extra steps that are not necessary.

Then when I was in my 20s computers started rearing their ugly little heads. Internet didnt come until my 30s. I remember computers use to take 10 steps to do 1 thing. Then came Windows, and it was 1 or 2 clicks. Now we seem to be making it a 10 step process again. hehehe :)

I know what you mean and for the most part I’m of the old school of sensible thinking of, “if it’s not broke don’t fix it.” Problem in general as I see it is most of the people in the age bracket that work in this Silicon Valley cyber technology corporations don’t get it and don’t think that way for the most part. They actually mess with things all the time thinking if we can call it that, there might be a better mouse trap or some fun in tinkering with it just because they can! Maybe like an Adhd type of thinking as I see in many of the youngest among us who have grown up with a digital device in their hands practically 24/7 not super freaks but super geeks! They did this with Yahoo mail Classic which I had for years and many folks agreed with me that it was just the way we wanted it, but, then Yahoo announced they were doing away with the classic and only the new version would be available. When they switched over I lost all of my contacts and they said it was just an unfortunate byproduct of change and i might be able to get them back if I go buy this hundred dollar phone card to gain access to some system and retrieve them then I can get a refund for part of it; I said forget it good bye! In other words they didn’t care a rat’s ass about me or my inconvenience! Sometimes these changes might be for competitive reasons but I doubt that here, because if you have a huge following that use your service and product for years why would you risk losing many of them just to gain a share of some other platforms user base, sort of a dumb win some and lose some thinking? I haven’t even looked at the new format and that’s because I’m busy and really don’t want to be bothered, so that says a lot about my desire to change this set-up. If Word Press is willing to annoy good standing users and as in my case once I look over the new program I may say this is a waste of my time and pull the plug, that tells me they can’t be too serious about keeping users satisfied and this wasn’t a well thought out event. I think it’s another to use the Yahoo techs words unfortunate byproduct of having too many left wing liberals running and operating these massive High Tech Industries because I know for sure liberals don’t think normal or have a real clue about standards of business and life practice that are tried and proven over many, many years; but instead are of the new disposable society mind-set thinking they know it all or know better than all those that came before them. That’s why many of them are atheists and non-believers in God and Jesus; lost souls, who are playing right into the hands of all our enemies especially the Evil ones! Anyway, sorry for the spiel but these dim-wits really get my goat!

No apologies needed Lawrence :) I understand what you are saying. The only reason I went ahead and started using the new editor was to get ahead of the game but it has taught me that it is more of a hassle than its worth :) One step has turned into 3 or more. Patience isnt my virtue, and I prefer efficiency. Maybe they will listen if enough people don’t like it but then again maybe not. All I know is I am not willing to spend double or triple the time to do the same thing.

The editor will be switched over starting June 1rst. When you go to make a post it will be different format. It seems easy enough to navigate but there are features that take longer to navigate through. If that makes sense. In other words what use to be one click has turned in to several clicks. Like the scheduling of posts, adding tags to the post etc. I was timing it and it took me on an average of 4 to 5 minutes longer to type, schedule, tag, etc a post than it use to take me. If that is 6 verses it adds up. I know for some it is wonderful but for me I just don’t have the time.
