This is a recipe that my dear neighbour and friend gave to me a few years back. He is no longer with us, having left this earth after getting cancer. I really miss him. He was a loving jokester who at first was rough around the edges but in the end he could wear any one down with his kind heart, and wonderful sense of humour :)
We were always sharing food. He called me meals on wheels because after his diagnosis I would take him and his wife dinner every night. He did all the cooking up until then. He was a wonderful cook and introduced, or should I say, made me eat things I would have never tried :)
He made the best vegetable soup I have ever ate in my life. It took me a quite a bit of prodding to get that soup recipe from him. He said it was his secret recipe. I thought he was pulling my leg as he often did. After his funeral, his kids were talking about that soup, and how he would never give any one his “secret” recipe. I have honoured that and always kept it a secret too. Although when I make it I will carry some to his wife. She is a wonderful caring, giving person. God blessed me with these neighbours :)
This “Summer Salad” is another recipe that he gave me. I have kept it in his hand writing, the way he gave it to me. It always makes me feel close to him to see his handwriting.
I promised Diana that I would post it for her. Since this is not one of his “secret” recipes, I am sure he won’t mind.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. — Romans 5:6
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. — Romans 5:10

LORD, I ask You to bless everyone reading.
If you are willing with God things will be rapturous
Without God life can be quite disastrous
Life doesn’t have to be treacherous and frightful
With God each day, each step can be delightful
His Love, His blessings are constantly elevating
His Spirit keeps my life exhilarating
Beloved there’s no need for fear
Beloved let Me dry your tears
When you can’t take any more
Knock and I Am will open that door
Beloved I Am is always here
God knows I am trying
Even when I am crying
He sees what’s inside
Even when I try to hide
God knows when I am falling
He hears all of my calling
He knows when I am lying
When I say all is fine but inside I am dying
God is always pulling me up
Even when I have given up
And when I begin to slide
God never leaves my side
Why did I pick a path to follow
That always made me feel so hollow
God gave me free will so I could choose
But not because He wanted me to lose
He guides me to make the right choice
Always beckoning me to listen to His voice
And so began my fresh new start
When I chose to unhardened my heart
Now is always a good time to praise the LORD. When everything is going wrong is the BEST time to praise the LORD.
Is now a good time? Praise the LORD.
Is now a bad time? Praise the LORD.
We can do so, and watch how miraculously our situation changes :)
Give it a try, and see how it works out for you :)

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. — Jeremiah 9:24
Forasmuch as there is none like unto Thee, O LORD; thou art great, and Thy name is great in might. — Jeremiah 10:6
